Welcome to the SERBoard!

Who are we?

The primary interest of the board is the B15 Nissan Sentra SE-R and Spec V, although we're quite open to drivers of other cars. We like to maintain an accurate assesment of the B15's abilities, and frankly, we aren't driving F1's here. Wink

There's a strong community in the B15 crowd. There are a large number of very bright, very knowlegeable people who love to help each other out. A number of friendships have also formed in the community, and this board is intended to help keep those friendships going. We're all here to talk about our cars, to talk about other cars, and to have a good time. So enjoy yourself while you're here!

What are the rules?

The rules are fairly simple. It really all boils down to being respectful of other members.

First: No personal attacks or flaming. If someone says something that pisses you off, be polite in your response or don't respond at all. If you're really steamed about something, try to handle it politely through PMs; failing that, PM a mod to try to resolve it. It's easy for Internet forums to turn into giant flame wars, and we don't want that to happen here.

Second: No NWS images in the threads, although links are OK as long as there's a NWS disclaimer in the subject. There aren't many little kids running around on the board, but to avoid legal complications (I have no interest in going to jail!) NWS images are not permitted. This is the intarweb, if you want porn there are plenty of other places to go.

Third: Postwhoring is not permitted. "Postwhoring" means posting stupid nonsense that has no relationship with the topic at hand. Looking through ten pages of people saying "Woot" and "So many" to find a response to your question about recalls is only funny for so long. One partial exception to this rule is the Off Topic forum, where goofiness is permitted and encouraged, as long as things don't get out of hand.

Fourth: No dissing other forums. There are a lot of great forums out there, including a couple others for the B15. If you've got a beef with another forum, take it up with them.

Fifth: This should go without saying, but no illegal or obviously objectionable material. I don't want to go to jail because someone wants to distribute illegal stuff through a website I host, OK? As for the objectionable stuff... We'll try to let you guys have as much of a free reign as possible, but if something goes past the boundaries of decency (illegal or not) it'll be taken down.

Sixth: If you have a problem with the way the board is run, please bring it up with the moderators. We have a forum specifically for that kind of thing. We won't necessarily agree with you, but we will listen and consider your argument carefully. Posting complaints about mods in other forums (including the Off Topic forum) may be considered postwhoring; see Rule Three.

Seven: Use your common sense. Very Happy It's impossible to have rules governing every aspect of board use, don't try to get away with something clearly retarded just because we don't have rules banning it, OK?

What happens if the rules are broken?

Hopefully that'll never happen. Wink If it does, the offending member will receive a polite warning that their actions are breaking the rules. If the offending behaviour continues, the mod team will consider a temporary ban; in extreme cases, permanent bans may need to be used. (We really hope not, because it always leads to bad blood.) If the behaviour is really outrageous (spamming every forum on the board, vicious personal attacks on other members, threats, etc) the warning stage or even the temporary ban might be skipped.

Anything else?

Yes: have fun. Smile
